Indumathy Ganesh received her initial training under the famed danseuse Padmashree Chitra Visveswaran. She has performed extensively and has earned the recognition and respect of dance critics for her exquisite execution of Bharathanatyam and has come to be recognized for her flawless rhythm, flowing grace and powerful projections of the various moods.
In addition to staging several solo traditional Bharathanatyam concerts, Ganesh has choreographed and presented several thematic productions including: Glory of Rama, Bhakthi Shakthi – The Strength of Devotion, Arpana, Dance of Shiva, Shakthi, Swapna and Recollections. She has also collaborated with other dancers in the San Francisco Bay Area to choreograph and present fundraisers for the community: In Praise of Giving, The Hero’s Journey, Navagraha, Stree Mahima, Maitreem Bhajata, Divya Nama Anjali, Sringara iand Abhaya Hasta. Indumathy has participated as a soloist in the Asian Pacific Performing Arts Festival and in the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. In 1997, she presented a series of performances in San Francisco with California Contemporary Dancers. In 1998, she was awarded the titles of Natya Mayuri and Lalitha Kala Rathna for her dedication to arts. |
